The (re)brand

Founded by lifelong watersportsman and entrepreneur James Derbecker more than 15 years ago, this proudly made-in-America kayak manufacturer was ready to take its design and its story to the next level—becoming a bona fide adventure + lifestyle brand.

The Special Sauce

The new branding needed to be immediately evocative with a dash of nostalgia, capturing the feeling of communing with nature, friends, and family around the soul-deep draw of water. Exuberant, naturally lit environmental, lifestyle/editorial, and product photography, a strategically sticky logo system made to be worn, and a modern twist on a patriotic color scheme allowed Crescent’s products, and their people, to rise to the occasion.
